Unzip your Pixel Cart
Upload to either the root folder, or a sub folder on your server
Visit the URL of the folder you uploaded Pixel Cart to
Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the form so that Pixel Cart can connect to your MySQL database and create your admin account
When your Pixel Cart is born, delete the install/ folder and proceed to the admin control panel to configure the system
Pixel Cart comes complete with many cool features as standard, without the need for extra modules. Which features you choose to use are entirely up to you. These features include:
Poll - visitors can cast a vote on a poll as defined in admin control panel
Guest Book – your visitors can sign your guest book, only if they are registered
News Article Publishing – you can post news from your admin control panel
Page Menu – this is dynamic, and you can choose which pages, and any forms that you wish to be displayed
Shop Categories – as defined in admin control panel
Tell a friend – lets your visitors email their friends to inform them about your store
Site Map – generated automatically and shows any pages (you can hide pages too), news articles, and product categories at your store
Newsletter Subscription – users can add their email to your mailing list – you can manage these in your admin control panel and send a newsletter to any subscribers
Quick Find / Tag Cloud – this generates a number of words (and makes them into hyper links) relating to the content of the pages at your store
Variable Header / Variable Footer – you can set some code to appear here. Either images linking to pages or products, or Google Adsense adverts / Google Analytics.
Random Banner – in admin control panel you are able to upload a number of images and set their destination once they are clicked. From the series of images, one will be shown at random every time the page is loaded / refreshed.
Slide Show – we're using the Jquery Cycle plugin (http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle/ ) to show any images you upload (again, destination URL can be set) in an animated slide show. There are a number of options for this plugin to change the transition effect, or you can replace the code with another slide show plugin as required.
Site Search – this form will return any pages, products or news articles related to a search.
Mobile Mode – Pixel Cart has the ability to detect the visitors device, and show a alternative, minimalistic template (skins/_mobile). Works much the same as the default theme but is intended for web designers/developers who would like to create a simple theme for mobile devices such as smart phones, and tablets.
RSS – Pixel Cart can generate an RSS feed for news articles, new products and popular / best selling products
